MultiMat is a double sided mat which can be applied to virtually any engraving table top to provide a stable, self sticking surface to practically any flat engraving material.

MultiMat is a durable rubber like material with a rigid core that has special holding properties. Engraving material will not move from side to side, but after engraving can be aasily lifted.

  • No more problems with difficult to hold engraving material. Perfect for brass, aluminium, flexible materials like IPI, acrylic, rigid materials like Traffolyte, etc.
  • MultiMat can be used on laser engraving systems to keep warped or thin materials flat while being processed.
  • MultiMat does away with the need for double sided tape, vacuum tables and other expensive time consuming methods to hold materials down. Also eliminates nearly all the need for clamps.

Frequently Asked Questions About MultiMat

How long will MultiMat last?
The life span of MultiMat depends on many factors, including the type of use, cleaning and handling. The average user can expect many months or even years of use. One great advantage is that MultiMat is double sided and therefore the life span can be double compared to a single sided product.

How can I clean multimat?
Cleaning MultiMat is simple and easy. Just use a soft sponge and running water to remove chips, dust or dirt then allow to dry. No chemicals or cleaners are required.

How is MultiMat affixed to the engraving table top?
No double sided tapes, vacuums or clamps are needed and MultiMat can be easily removed and stored for later use. It can then be re-installed by placing it in position and gently pressing down. No other hold down system is so fast and easy to use.

What happens if I engrave through the engraving material and into MultiMat?
MultiMat has a self healing feature. Small cuts in the surface of MultiMat should not cause a problem and even seem to heal. Of course continued cuts over a long period of time will degrade the effectiveness of MultiMat.

How is MultiMat sold?
LST sell Multimat in standard sheet sizes of:

  • 1200mm x 600mm

  • 600mm x 600mm

  • 600mm x 300mm

  • 300mm x 300mm

It can be cut to size with a standard plastic shear. Some users will cut the mat to fit their table size. Others prefer to cut their MultiMat into several equal sheets corresponding to the size of plate or materials they most often engrave. They use one, and keep the others in reserve.
